He is a professional surfer on the ASP World Tour. 2012 was his rookie year on the pro tour, and he ended the season as the 4th best surfer in the world and won Rookie of the Year. In the media, he is known for his work on The Big Bounce (2004), Beyond Sight: The Derek Rabelo Story (2013) and The Arena: North Shore (2009).
