It's only when we take a step back that we can see the wonderful things in the world like animal rescues, children's laughter, good friends, Dunkin Donuts coffee, the kindness of strangers, the arms of a lover after a long separation, stupid jokes, awesomely bad movies, freedom in a country where one person can really make a difference, a child's first steps, a random compliment.... oh soooo many wonderful things. The things that make your heart skip a beat and the butterflies flutter around the things that you find yourself smiling either because of or in spite of.
