Margaret Smith started out as a stand up comic from Chicago, Illinois. She best known for her sarcastic wit and deadpan delivery. In 1995, she won the American Comedy Award for Funniest Female Stand-Up Comic. She has a comedy CD called, As It Should Be, released in 2000. She has also written a book published in 2008 entitled, What Was I Thinking? How Being a Stand Up Did Nothing to Prepare Me to Become a Single Mother. She now has two sons and lives in Texas.
