Toby Watts was born in Cardiff, Wales on Oct 15, 1988 and is a writer, producer and director based in Sheffield, UK. He grew up in the far north of Scotland where he later founded his production company Far North Film in 2011 with his filmmaker brother, Fionn. His father is a writer and his mother an actress, and he often describes his upbringing as 'eccentric'. The far north of Scotland features heavily in his work and his debut feature film Playhouse is both set at his childhood home and about a writer who moves to the far north of Scotland, much like his own family did in the mid 90's.Toby and Fionn are also known as the Watts brothers. Playhouse is their debut feature film.
