John James 'Jimmy' Callahan is the colorful leader of six Irish immigrant families, who claim to have purchased an important piece of Barkley land and refuse to leave. His first meeting with the Barkleys is not an auspicious one as Audra feels that the land that they bought and paid for is hers. Hot headed Nick agrees. Mayhem and a doozey of a fist fight follow. Jimmy is a reasonable man who has been swindled and must make the best of an awful situation.
