Captain (later Colonel) Steven Hiller, USMC, was a Marine aviator with VMFA-314 The Black Knights and aspiring astronaut. He was part of the counterattack against the alien city destroyer that obliterated Los Angeles on July 2, 1996, and was the sole survivor of that squadron. He later flew an alien attacker up to their mothership on July 4, 1996 to help David Levinson upload a computer virus to deactivate their shielding and then destroyed it with a tactical nuke. He was killed in April 2007 when the alien tech-equipped aircraft he was test-flying blew up. He married his stripper girlfriend Jasmine Dubrow and was stepfather to her son Dylan.
