Charlie Countryman is a young adult who has recently lost his mother but when she reappears as a ghost to tell him to go to Bucarest, Charlie does as she says. When he leaves Chicago he meets a man called Victor who talks with him on the flight however, when Charlie wakes up and he finds Victor dead, he finds his daughter Gabbi and, begins to fall in love with her.
