The protagonist in all of the National Lampoon's ________ Vacation movies, Clark, who is nicknamed, Sparky by his wife, stands for the traditional middle class male head of (nuclear family) household. He wants the best for his family, and will go to gravely unreasonable expenses to achieve it. Played by Chevy Chase and using Chase's well-known combination of subliminal speech and physical comedy, Clark can interact with any character and leave the audience in stitches, all while reminding each audience member of someone we know from somewhere in our lives.
