Coop Cooper was the son of Tom Cooper and grandson of astronaut, Joseph Cooper. He was born on the family farm near Lamar, Colorado in the year 2082, two years after the death of his brother Jesse who died of lung disease at the age of 5. Coop himself had been diagnosed with it when he was 8, but his father Tom was stubborn and did not want him to leave the family farm. Around the year 2100, Coop had left with his mother and father for NASA to be launched into space on Cooper Station, along with several other space stations. He lived almost all his adult life on the station and worked as an agricultural specialist to keep the crops growing. In 2154, he was 72 years of age and heard about his grandfather being rescued, but made no attempt to meet him, even though he was living in the old family farmhouse that was now a museum exhibit. He was in the room with his aunt Murph, along with his son, his son's wife, and two grandchildren when Murph was dying and had seen his grandfather Joe Cooper come in there, though he was uncomfortable at the thought of introducing himself and attempting conversation with him and left the two of them alone, along with the other dozen people in there. Coop was fascinated at his appearance, though sad because his father never got to see Cooper again and had died 20 years before.
