Danny suffers from inoperable asthma. he has an attack as a way of giving away his location and to character build a relationship between him and his half-sister, charlie. It hits him again after running from the bad guys and serves only as an introduction between him and the shows only black female. After 15 yrs, she somehow has an inhaler... His asthma however is not provoked during a violent, humidity-stricken storm/tornado or after a game of fisty-cuffs with the showsonly black male. Some would call this a plot device, it is NOT.
