Native New Yorker Danny Nicoletta is a San Francisco-based freelance photographer who began his career in the city in 1975 as an assistant to the late Crawford Barton, who was then the staff photographer for The Advocate.During this time, he also worked in Harvey Milk and Scott Smith's camera store in the heart the Castro District of San Francisco. He assisted in several of Milk's political campaigns.
