David Freeman's fullname is David Scott Freeman and is a twelve-year-old American boy living in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1978.On the night of July 4, his parents Helen and Bill Freeman ask him to go retrieve his eight-year-old brother Jeff from a friend's house. On his way David falls in the woods and is knocked unconscious. He awakes after what seems like a few moments and returns home, only to find that he is now in the year 1986 and that everything has changed but himself.
