Dez Wade is one of the two major supporting characters of the Disney Channel Sitcom Austin & Ally. He is played by Calum Worthy and was created by Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert.Dez Hatfield Wade is a 16-year-old(15 in the debut episode) longtime childhood friend of Miami-Dade County area teen pop singing sensation Austin Moon. A budding cinematographer and director, he was responsible for filming Austin's video for the song Double Take and loading it up on a YouTube-type website turning Moon into an overnight sensation. However, Moon didn't write the song himself, and sub-consciously got the song from a budding young female songwriter named Ally Dawson who is the same age he is, and works at his favorite after school hangout Sonic Boom, a music store owned by her father Lester Dawson at an outdoor shopping mall known as the Mall of Miami.Dez is basically a kid at heart. Although not the brightest in the group, he does give excellent advice especially in love. Although he had not been in any kind of relationship at the time when he gave out this advice as Dr. Love , it only shows how much he understood at the time and far more so now that he has beloved girlfriend. Dez is easily excited over worldly things.Dez's surname was revealed to be Wade in the episode Fanatics & Favors.
