Dora Charleston is a parody of Nora Charles, the wealthy wife of Nick Charles, private sleuth and part-time lush created by Dashiell Hammett in a novel called The Thin Man , which was later turned into a series of Films. She also may be partly based on Tuppence from Agatha Christie's Tommy and Tuppence.
