Egon Spengler is a master at electronics as well as paranormal detection. As one of the founding members of the Ghostbusters, he contributes his genious to the inventions and gadgets they use. One of most used gadgets is the proton pack and gun which is used to subdue ghosts/ monsters until they can be put in a trap.Seven years after the split of the original Ghostbusters, Dr. Spengler recruited four (he only had four) students from his Paranormal Science 101 class to become the Extreme Ghostbusters (1997). The original ghostbusters, led by Egon, aided the Extreme Ghostbusters once.
