Dr. Strange was a surgeon who lost his ability to operate. He went on a quest for enlightenment in the Himalayas where he met The Ancient One. There He learned about the Orb of Agamoto,the Winds of Watoom, received the Cloak of Levitation and Eye of Agamotto, the Hosts of Hoggoth, and the Flames of the Faltine. He became a Master of the Mystic Arts, then the Sorcerer Supreme and guardian of this realm of existence. His headquarters is in a mansion at 177A Bleeker Street, Greenwich Village NYC. You may see it, but the simplest of mystic passes will make you forget it. He protects the Earth and this dimension from demonic forces including The Dread Dormammu and Baron Mordo. He is helped by Clea, a bleach blonde princess from another dimension, who becomes his wife and his faithful servant Wong, who guards his body from attack when he projects his astral form. Marvel artist Steve Ditko formed this character with many double page splash panels showing demonic attacks in the gates of this reality, stopped by Dr. Strange. All hail the Sorcerer Supreme!
