Eve Teschmacher was Lex Luthor's girlfriend living in an underground apartment. When Lex decided to use a missile to destroy Hackensack, New Jersey, she told him her mother lived there. Desperate, she saves Superman's life and kisses him. She even asked why she couldn't get on with the good guys. Superman sends the missile into space, but is too late to get rid of the missile that struck California.
