Lady Georgiana Spencer (played by Kiera Knightley) was the eldest child of the Earl and Countess Spencer, born at Althorp Park in England. At the young age of 17, she was married to the Duke of Devonshire (played by Ralph Fiennes). Later, when she had three children, she would become friends with a woman named Elizabeth Foster (played by Hayley Atwel), who would after Georgiana's death become her successor as the next Duchess of Devonshire.
