The Half-Face Man is the pilot droid of a spaceship known as the SS Marie Antoinette. When it crashed and the human crew died the Half-Face Man returned to his programming and ordered the rest of the steampunk creations of the ship crew to cut up and dismember the dead crew. This turned out to not be enough and they decided to set up a restaurant in Victorian London, where they lured customers in and cut them up to use as disguises to make sure they could travel the streets and slash people apart there. This one took on a serial killer character, such as Jack the Ripper, but had only half a human face. Also, the Half-Face Man had done more than disguise himself, making himself human. The Doctor arrived and put an end to the killings, and the Half-Face Man fell to his death from the restaurant window, being impaled on the spike on top of Big Ben. It is unknown whether he fell or was pushed by the Doctor, a key plot point. For a while after death he resided in The Promised Land , where his body became a Cyberman. Though the Cyberman body exploded, he still resides in The Promised Land .
