Henry Bowers
Henry Bowers (at the age of 14) is the antagonist besides Pennywise, the clown that torments the minds of the young children of a little town called Derry in Maine. Henry is the main bully with his cronies: A boy named Belch and another kid named Patrick. Henry acquires more friends to join his gang through the movie but his most loyal friends are always patrick and Belch.Henry Bowers shows plenty hostility towards the Loser's Club, a group of outcasts that bond together because of their features that separate them. Henry dislikes the seven children, whom all our at least twelve years old. He doesn't like Beverly because of her gender and poverty; Mike, because of his color; Stanley because of his jewish heritage; Bill because of his stutter. He picks on Eddie because of his physical frailty (he has asthma and his mother oftentimes worries night and day about him); Henry dislikes Richie because Richie is frequently the smart mouth and has thick glasses.Henry Bowers demonstrates aggressive behavior, engaging in rockfights with the seven and earlier in the movie, puts a knife to Ben when Ben unintentionally lands Henry in an hour's worth of detention for the rest of the week by Miss Douglass. He's been held back evident from Miss Douglass asking Henry after he had insulted Mike's history saying: Henry Bowers, how much longer will you be with me? He just smiles. There might be a hint of sympathy for the bully being that his father might beat him many times since Henry states after being given detention that his father will tear my hide .After a rockfight with the Loser's Club, Henry tells them that he will 'kill them all'. He goes to the sewers (when the seven children go after It) and he and Belch (since Patrick gets caught by It and assumed to be dead) catch Stan. Henry is about to kill him until a light (presumed to represent the deadlights of It) comes through a pipe and eats Belch. Henry's hair turns white when he gazes at the deadlights.Later in Part 2, the seven have a reunion. When the topic lands on their former bully that made their childhoods miserable, they express continuous dislike. Michael states that Henry has been kept in an institution because he had admitted to all the killings and missing children that had been happening at Derry, including the murder of Velma Daniels. no one listens to him when Henry explains something about a clown (It).Later in his asylum bed, Henry, now aged with still white hair, is befriended by It and is told to kill the children since he had been so close. Belch comes as the undead and restores Henry's switchblade. Henry goes out of the asylum and escapes to Derry where he knifes Mike, who lives but in the process of the attempt of killing Mike, Mike turns the knife on Henry, stabbing him.
