Janis Ian is one of the first friends Cady makes in high school. She is your typical goth like outcast and has a vengence against Regina so when Cady comes along she sees an opportunity for revenge. It is assumed by many students at North Shore, that she is a lesbian. This is dispelled when she hooks up with Kevin Gnapour (the leader of the mathletes) at the Spring Fling dance in Junior year. The film ends at the beginning of senior year; we assume that she and Kevin are a couple by that time.
