A male Gelfling, saved by the Mystics (Uru as they are originally known) when he was an infant from the vile Skeksis and the Garthim (insect-like creatures that serve the Skeksis) Jen lives with his master, the wisest of the Mystics, believing he is the only Gelfling alive. Spending his days by the stream and playing his double flute, life is pleasant for him.
