Jenny Swanson is an important character in the MTV sitcom The Hard Times of RJ Berger. She is played by Amber Lancaster.By all accounts, Jenny is the typical pretty, popular head cheerleader at Pinkerton High School, and is adored from afar by nerdy sophmore, RJ Berger. Being the head cheerleader has not given her a stuck-up attitude, although she is bound by the heirarchy of high school cliques. Her boyfriend is Max Owens, an arrogant, selfish, and obnoxious school jock who frequently bullies Berger. Despite her boyfriend's hostility toward RJ, Jenny is much more willing to interact with him, frequently asking him to turor her, and has even invited him to parties.Swanson's best friend is Robin Pretnar. She is also an enemy of Lily Miran, who has been in love with RJ since kindergarten. However when Lily tries out for cheerleading herself, and Jenny gives Lily her notes in order to help her make the squad, she changes her mind about Jenny, even though she fails anyway.
