Joan Callamezzo is a local TV talk show host in Pawnee, Indiana. Joan is incredibly vain, has a lofty sense of herself and her importance in the city, and fancies herself the Oprah of Pawnee -- complete with a book club that features a massive sticker with her picture that is affixed to the books she chooses each month. Joan is known for her gotcha style of journalism in which she tries to catch people in lies or uncover government wrongdoing -- not as much in the public interest but for her own glory. Joan is extremely egotistical and self-centered, has a fairly significant drinking problem and flirts with Tom -- and others -- incessantly.
