The ill-fated Johnny (Russell Streiner) is the bespectacled brother of Barbra, the fear-crazed heroine of George A. Romero's zombie classic Night of the Living Dead (1968).Johnny and Barbra are putting a wreath on the grave of a father they barely remember--and Johnny resents it. He has to drive several hours for this trip, which his mother is too ill to make herself. He takes it out on his sister by teasing her the way he used to do when they were kids. They're coming to get you, Barbra! he warns, imitating Boris Karloff. They're coming to get you! He doesn't know that someone--or rather, something--lumbering through the graveyard is coming to get them both. A man --whom we soon learn is one of many flesh-eating zombies--attacks them. It kills Johnny by smashing his head against a grave stone and then pursues Barbra who escapes to a nearby farmhouse. Johnny, now a member of the living dead, will appear there himself much later. He'll be joining the other creatures coming to get and eat Barbra if they can.Bill Moseley takes over the small role in the 1990 remake.In the gaiden film A Chemical Skyline, Johnny is shown driving with his sister, Barbara in the car and at the very end of the film, he is in the graveyard with Barbara right before he is attacked. We are left to assume that his fate will play out like it always does, leaving his sister, Barbara alone to fend for herself.
