Kala is Tarzan's ape mother.When his parents were killed by the lion Sabor after they were marooned in the coast of Africa, Kala rescued their baby son, John Clayton, and raised him among the apes as one of their own. They named him Tarzan.Later, she welcomes Jane Porter as part of the family.Kala appears in most Tarzan movies that depict his origins. In the Disney animated version, we get to understand what she's sayting, and she's voiced by Glenn Close.The Disney version of her appears in Kingdom Hearts , where she helps Sora, Goofy and Donald defeat Clayton and the Heartless.
