Katherine (Kitty) Pryde is a young Jewish mutant (she is frequently shown wearing a Mogen David, or Star of David, necklace). She has the ability to phase (make her body intangible) and can also phase objects she carries. When phased, she can 'walk on air'. In most X-Men groupings, Kitty is the youngest member, having joined them at 14. She is extremely intelligent, has high computer skills, and speaks several languages fluently (in addition to English, she has been shown speaking German, Russian, Japanese, and Aramaic). She has also been known to cross dress as a man.
