Damaged by her own personal tragedy, and in spite of what she imagines as a betrayal of their friendship (in an earlier episode) she nonetheless shows herself a loyal friend to our CSI hero, Gil Grissom (William Petersen). Lady Heather's portrayal deserves kudos for it's restraint and intelligent subtext; she is hardly one-dimensional. And Melinda Clarke's performance as a professional dominatrix rises above caricature and injects humanity into a role that could have been played for sensationalism alone. The above episode is the culmination of a series of episodes featuring a sex positive (and mostly correct!!!) portrayal of that least understood of the bondage and discipline scene regulars, the Dominant Woman.
