Lalin is an associate of Carlito from the earlier days of his career. When Carlito is released, Pachanga informs him that Lalin is doing 30 years in prison. Lalin visits Carlito at the club. He is in a wheel chair due to being shot in the spine. After some small talk and catching up, Lalin attempts to lead Carlito into incriminating himself. Carlito grows suspicious and holds a knife to Lalin's throat, searches him and finds a wire. Lalin admits that he was sent there by D.A. Norwalk in exchange for being released from prison. Carlito doesn't kill him, but allows him to live with the shame. Lalin was a sharp dresser and a smooth character,he worked as a greeter in a high end brothel/casino.
