Leslie Elizabeth Shay was a Paramedic in Ambulance 61.From the beginning of the show, Shay is portrayed as a reliable and dependable friend to the rest of the team at the fire station. She is quick to offer help and advice where needed. She is best friends with fellow Paramedic Gabriela Dawson and with Lt. Kelly Severide, who is also her roommate. She helps Gabby with her romantic issues and helps Kelly overcome his pill addiction in Season 1.A lesbian, Shay seems to attract the wrong kind of women and gets her heart broken various times. After one ex-girlfriend leaves her for a man with whom she has a baby, Shay decides to have a baby on her own. She convinces her best friend Severide to be the father and raise the child with her.
