Lynn Bracken is a small-town girl from Bisbee, Arizona now working as a prostitute in a stable of movie-star look-alikes run by Pierce Patchett (David Strathairn). She is Patchett's Veronica Lake . Bud White (Russell Crowe) locates her in the course of an investigation and the two become lovers. She also has an escapade with Ed Exley (Guy Pearce) staged by Dudley Smith (James Cromwell) and Sid Hudgens (Danny DeVito) that is pivotal in the overall plot resolution.
