Born and raised in Texas, Matt Santos comes from humble beginnings, the son of a barber and a maid. But his natural leadership and charismatic nature take him far. A combat veteran of the first Iraq war, his political career started when he was elected to the city council of his hometown. Higher profile positions soon followed, bringing Santos to Washington D.C., where is he serves in the House of Representatives. Though sometimes frustrated by the political process, he might just harbor aspirations of sitting in the Oval Office. He is married to Helen Santos and is the father of two young children, Peter and Miranda.
