Meg attended the University of Michigan along with the other characters in The Big Chill, and returns years later as a lawyer. She is desperate to have a child, and wants one of the men at their impromptu reunion to be the father--it is intimated that at some point in their past, she was pregnant with Michael's baby and that she chose to abort it--something she still regards as the right decision at the time, even though the only thing she has always known is that she wants to have children. Whether or not she is actually impregnated by the end of the film is not directly answered.
