Motormaster is the Captain of the Stunticons, a team of five Decepticons specifically built to challenge the ground primacy of the Autobot car soldiers. To that end, Motormaster's Earth-based vehicle mode was designed to be a dark mirror to that of Autobot leader Optimus Prime. Motormaster can merge with his squadmates to form the saber wielding giant Menasor, and he is also capable of linking with the Decepticon Metrotitan Trypticon's station mode to form a modular repair bay. In vehicle mode, Motormaster functions as a blockade runner, capable of reaching 140mph and shattering a 20-foot concrete block without even cracking a headlight. Consequently, he can plow through human vehicles with ease, and only the toughest Autobots can withstand a head on collision with him. Optimus Prime is one of those lucky few, and Motormaster is obsessed with defeating the Autobot leader, despite the physical inequality.Unlike Optimus Prime, Motormaster commands through intimidation rather than respect, consequently, he is resented by his own troops. Though their fear of him precludes them from intentionally risking his displeasure, their animosity causes a considerable mental rift whenever they form Menasor, a weakness the Autobots take no small pleasure in exploiting.
