Ned Rubinstein was an 18 year old counsellor at Camp Crystal Lake during the summer re-opening of 1979. He served alongside 18 year old bestfriend Jack Buffel, his friend and Jack's 18 year old girlfriend Marcie Stanler, young 17 year old Annie Phillips, 19 year old elder counsellors Brenda, Bill and Alice Hardy under 33 year old proprietor Steve Christie. He had arrived along with bestfriend Jack and Jack's girlfriend Marcie in Jack's truck which he drove there, arriving shortly after Brenda, Bill and Alice. He had helped the group set up in preparation for the inner-city children to which were slated to be guests at the fateful camp. He had heard the Crystal Lake town gossip about Camp Crystal Lake and had brought up their talks among the group, being aware of it's grim, alternate title and the deaths of 1958 counsellors Barry and Claudette. Ned served as a comic relief among the group and had expressed great interest to Jack and Marcie in meeting attractive girls like Marcie. He had taken an immediate interest in counsellor Brenda and continued on during his short time at the summer camp attempting to flirt and impress her. He had played a drowning prank on the others at the pier of the lake before the observing eyes of Pamela Voorhees following the nearby murder of Annie who he and the others were still awaiting to show. He was killed during sunset on Friday the 13th, 1979 at a bunk cabin near the pier which he had entered following a spotted Pamela Voorhees. Off-screen he had his throat slashed in a similar fashion to fellow counsellor Annie Phillips. He marked the first victim on the grounds of Camp Crystal Lake in 1979. His body was placed on an upper bunk in the bunk cabin by Pamela and's body was discovered along with Jack.
