NYPD Dectective Nick Manolis was introduced during the Frank Miller era of the Daredevil Comic Book series who served as Daredevil's contact within the NYPD despite not completely trusting him.During the Born Again Storyline, after his son became ill, Manolis was forced to accept a bribe from the Kingpin to get Matt Murdock disbarred to pay for his son's surgery, but once his son died, Manolis was ready to come clean to Ben Urich. However, he was killed by a female nurse named Lois who was under the Kingpin's employ before he could give away too much information.Manolis also appeared in the 2003 Daredevil film, where his relationship with Daredevil is much rougher than in the comics, and prior to Nicholas Natchio's murder he considered Daredevil as an urban legend.
