oscar is an ex drug addict who became better then the person they were before according th chole. his mom left his family when he was in middle school and his father is an abusive alcoholic. he works at the coffee shop jitters where he meets and falls in love with chole. the two share a beautiful relationship and end up getting married and chole being pregnant. in one of the last scenes, oscar was playing football at the local college and had a heart attack. his friends tried to get him to the hospital but the place was so packed that he died in the car when he had his whole life ahead of him.
