Patty isn't exactly a high-profile attorney... in fact she's just barely gotten her feet wet in the world of law. She primarily makes a living selling low-value real estate and taking small cases when they come her way. She reaches out to Billy McBride to help with a case for a friend and, what first appears, to be a quick payout but the case quickly escalates into a far more elaborate scheme that she first thought.
