Pema is wife to Tenzin and mother to Jinora, Ikky and Meelo. She is the only non-bender on Airbender Island and confessed to Katara that she wishes she had at least one non-bending child like her. Pema is very kind and patient and treats Korra like another daughter. She offers Korra advice about Mako when her daughters' give less than helpful ideas. Pema admitted that Tenzin was in love with someone else, but she knew that the other woman was not right for him and so confessed her love and they have lived happily ever after since. She is now heavily pregnant with her fourth child.
