Named after the mythological daughter of Ares and Queen Otrera who died fighting Achilles, Ajax and other Achaean warriors in the final months of the siege of Troy after arriving there to honor the Amazon's past alliances with Troy while seeking death after she killed her sister Hippolyta in a hunting accident.
