Rev. Samuel Parris
Reverend Samuel Harris (1653-1720) was a Puritan minister. He became minister in Salem, Massachusets in 1689. In 1691 his daughter and her cousin accused the family slave Tituba of whitchcraft, which led to the infamous Salem witch trials. He stayed on as minister in Salem until 1697 before accepting a job elsewhere. He died in 1720. He is portrayed in Arthur Miller's The Crucible and other works.
