Smooth-talking heartthrob played by Mickey Rourke, Boogie is oozing confidence as the movie opens as he defends his two-thousand dollar basketball bet. Once the bet is lost he starts trying to account for the money he doesn't have by betting his friends on how far he will get with Carol. After a crisis of conscience, he is left to tell his bookie that he doesn't have the money, only to be told that his debt has been paid by a friend of his fathers.
