Roseanne Conner is the fictional title character in the sitcom, Roseanne. A typical working-class housewife, she is presumably an extension of Roseanne Barr's stand-up and real-life personality: domineering and sarcastic. Roseanne is often depicted as having the control over the household while her husband Dan takes a back seat. She consistently tries to control the lives of her husband, children, and friends. Despite her caustic nature, it is evident that Roseanne cares for her family and children.
