Roy Anderson
Roy Anderson
Roy Anderson works at the warehouse for Dunder Mifflin Paper Company and was 'dating' Pam for nine years before she called the wedding off. He isn't very humorous, he tends to be negative and is frequently incapable of seeing or understanding Pam's point of view. They are engaged for three years before he finally decides to set a date when inebriated on a Booze Cruise.Roy doesn't really understand his fiance, but he does love her and when she calls off their wedding he starts making positive changes in an effort to win her back. He is initially unsupportive of her desire to become an artist but when they are split up he offers encouragement.Roy admits to 'not getting her' and he makes an effort to impress her mother. It's easy to dismiss him as indifferent, but he shows his feelings for Pam on more than one occasion and is shown to be very distraught after Pam breaks up with him. He goes to her art show to try and support her and remembers the song that played at their high school prom as well as the color roses he gave her. Roy loves Pam, but they are ultimately ill-fitted for each other. He genuinely tries to change for her in order to be the sort of guy Pam would want, and while they briefly get back together his true colors show when she admitted to kissing Jim while they were engaged.Roy attacks Jim at the office and is terminated quickly, he has a final meeting with Pam and they part amicably. Roy even goes as far as to encourage her to pursue Jim.
