Sarek (2165-2368) is Mr. Spock's Vulcan father, a high-born Vulcan and eminent ambassador in the service of the Federation, yet he was estranged from Spock for years because he considered a career as Starfleet officer beneath their noble rank. When Spock and his comrades on the Enterprise help to save the Earth, Sarek makes a gesture of peace to Spock. After Spock's mother's demise, he remarries the human woman Perrin but remains in diplomatic service.
