Sheriff Ethan Miller is a longtime friend of Jonathan Kent's. In fact, they went to high school and played football together. All of Smallville's residents considered Sheriff Ethan to be a trustworthy friend. However, his future was tarnished and ruined forever when he was found to be the shooter and attempted assassin of Lionel Luthor, which he tried to frame on Jonathan. He also killed his unnamed high school friend that worked as a bartender.
