Sonja is Viktor's daughter and has an arranged marriage to Marcus's son Nikolas. However, Sonja is secretly in love with Viktor's trusted Lycan slave Lucian and becomes pregnant with his child, making their child a Lycan-Vampire hybrid. Lucian and Sonja marry in secret and plan to make their escape, but are thwarted by the jealous Leyba who has her sights on Lucian.
