Tommy Jarvis is the hero of the Friday the 13th movies Part IV-VI and is Jason Voorhees' archnemesis.He was a 12 year old boy when he was caught in one of Jason's rampages in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter . In the end, he shaved all of his hair and confronted Jason. This caused him to lower his guard, as he would not strike someone who reminds him of himself as a boy. Tommy used this distraction to steal Jason's machete and drive it through his head, killing him for good. Thus, he became one of the few people who survived Jason.However, during his teen years Tommy grew up disturbed by his traumatic experiences with Jason and was placed in the Unger Institution of Mental Health as a result of the aftermath with Jason. In Friday the 13th: A New Beginning , he thought he was hallucianting when he saw Jason attacking him again. As it turned out, this Jason was an ambulance driver named Roy Burns, who was imitating Jason to get revenge on the death of his own son to which severely damaged his mental state which brought him back to the mental institution.However, the experience convinced Tommy that he needed to see Jason's grave with his own eyes, so after being released from the institution he went to the cementery where Jason was buried in Friday the 13th VI: Jason Lives . However, a bolt of lightning struck Jason's corpse, reanimating it. From then on, Jason became a supernatural zombie to which he continued his massive killing spree on the grounds of Crystal Lake. And it was up to Tommy to once again stop Jason.Tommy managed to defeat the zombie Jason by drowning him into the lake, but that didn't kill him, seeing as he is already dead. And as far as Tommy knows, Jason is home .
