Vincent is a quirky throw-back to Sinatra type of guy who also happens to be an adept car thief in his spare time. On the day he decides to steal a BMW out of a high level parking garage, the thing he least expects to find is the actual owner of the car hidden in the trunk. After finding out that she planted herself there on some scheme to get attention, Vincent tries to find the best way out of his dilemma without becoming anymore involved with the owner, Alicia Silverstone's character, than he unwittingly already has been. But he finds this is easier said than done, when he begins to develop an attachment to Silverstone's character Emily. What ensues is a variety of events that will test his patience, to say the least.
