Virgil Minelli was the first Senior Agent of the Homicide Division of the CBI. It was he who hired Patrick Jane to be a Consultant, possibly to avoid a lawsuit after an agent slugged Jane. Minelli resigned after Sam Bosco's team was wiped out by their secretary Rebecca, who was a Red John minion. Minelli, would take up the life of a fisherman, but later agreed to help Jane on a case.
